Isadora and I went to the park tonight. The sun was setting, so I took as many pictures as I could while the light was so beautiful. Here are a few of my favorites. 

 

 

 

 

 

Cinéma vérité

I took the following two videos with my cellphone, so I apologize for the quality. But I think they capture the unique experience that is walking around the block with Isadora. I especially like the video of her seeing a cat. The resigned look on her face as the cat runs away captures something that I think is fairly universal about childhood: no matter how much you love animals, they will always be terrified of you.

Isadora got dressed up for Halloween early this year as the sweat-shirt reaper.

Is this picture a little cheesy? I don't know. But I bet the grandmas like it. 

I managed to capture the aftermath of this angry struggle. 

Isadora modeling the hat Nancy knitted, using materials Izza picked out herself. We were't sure neon teal would go with purple, or with anything, but it seems Izza can carry it off. 

Ours is the only yard on the block that has yet to be raked. So Izza and I went out to make a pile of leaves. Then, she jumped in it. 

Leaves! 

 

 

It's been rainy for the past few days, but the sun burst through the clouds late this afternoon. So Isadora and I went outside to enjoy the last bit of daylight. 

First, Izza got her chores done. 

Then, we drove to the back yard. 

We saw some geese flying over. 

Isadora plucked some grass. 

And then the sun went down. 

Tonight, Isadora and I played with some Playdoh. We focused mainly on sculpting turtles, because they are one of the few animals I can sculpt that even remotely resemble what they're supposed to resemble. I also enjoy sculpting different colored shells to lay over the tops of their bodies. After playing with them for a while, Izza said, "I'm taking their shells off. Because they're warm."
