Trains!

Trains! from Rob on Vimeo.

Another experimental audio slideshow. In this case, I think the sounds are more interesting than the images. There's nothing quite like the sound of a 2 year old in his own imaginative world.

How Did You Know That?

Driving to daycare this morning, Izza was claiming that they had some new toys to play with in her room. She said they were scary monsters, but that she didn't think they were scary. She thought they were cool. The following conversation then ensued.

Me: What are monsters? Are they a kind of animal?

Izza: No. They're just fluffy ovals with arms and legs.

Me: Like cookie monster?

Izza: No. He's a circle, not an oval.

Me: What's the difference between a circle and an oval?

Izza: A circle's perfectly round. An oval's not.

Me: How did you know that? Did you learn about ovals in school?

Izza: My body-ya told me. (Body-ya is her name for her body)

Me: Your body-ya knows a lot.

Izza: And my body-ya is me! It's just my name for my body, and it's all me! EVEN MY BUTT!

Me: Does your butt know anything?

Izza: Yeah. It knows that trees grow.

Bike Ride

Bike Ride from Rob on Vimeo.

I'm experimenting with mixing audio recordings and still photos. I recorded this with a hand held recorder in one hand and my camera in the other. The clicking you hear is the camera.
