Dramatic Skillz

According to my parents, I was a prolific fake crier as a kid. My mom referred to my performances as "Ricky Schroder tears" after the actor on the TV show "Silver Spoons." Well, the other night, we caught Isadora doing a fairly lifelike imitation cry, and I asked her to repeat the performance for the camera.

Frankly, I don't think she's doing herself any favors here. Seeing how she can work up a cry from scratch just makes it that much less affecting when it's supposedly real. But it's still fun to watch. I love how she lifts the veil right at the very end.

Wow! Make room on the shelf for her first Oscar. It seems to me that, in microcosm, she is actually progressing through all the stages of fake grief (shock, denial, anger, acceptance)....She could have at least done a crappy little fake cry here, but this one is so convincing, she's really cried wolf.

Remember when Ricky's dad hired Mister T to accompany Ricky to school as a bodyguard?

"Anybody Mind?!"
